With lobster’s distinct taste pairings can seem limited when you want to make a meal out of it. But sit tight, I have some solutions. I’m sure you will love these ideas if you’re looking to chef up a lobster-based meal at home.

1. Mashed Potatoes

Finding a side that won’t overpower the lobster can be challenging, but mashed potatoes are a safe call. Potatoes are a versatile option that goes with almost anything, lobster included.

Adding butter or garlic to your spuds can take them to the next level. The hints of flavour these ingredients add can amplify the delicious taste of your main course.

2. Tossed Salad

There are plenty of options when it comes to salads and they are almost all guaranteed to pair well with any type of lobster. Whether you choose a lobster tail from Florida or a Maine-type lobster, fresh salads are an excellent addition to a lobster-based meal and provide plenty of nutrients to get your health fix for the day.

When searching for what vegetable goes well with lobster, why not incorporate a few and make a salad with tasty nutritional benefits?

3. Butter

What is a good side dish with lobster? Golden butter — it’s a vital addition to any seafood meal. Butter has a creamy and delicious taste that brings out the sweet side of lobster. Serving some on the side is the traditional way to highlight lobster’s distinct flavour.

Drizzling Thermidor butter over your lobster is sure to amplify its taste. Try making your own Thermidor butter with dry white wine, Dijon mustard, a shallot, paprika, parsley, butter and tarragon.

4. Wild Rice

Wild rice is another excellent side to serve with any type of fish or lobster. It’s a complex carbohydrate that will leave you feeling full and energised while adding starch to your diet.

Rice is made up of about 80% healthy carbohydrates and whole grains, which are excellent antioxidants. The antioxidants in brown and wild rice can also be anti-inflammatory, which is always a bonus.

5. Asparagus

If you’re wondering what vegetable goes well with lobster, asparagus is your answer. It is jam-packed with health benefits and incredibly tasty – what more could you want?

You can steam, grill, or bake asparagus with a range of seasonings, providing plenty of flavour options. While it may sound strange, mayonnaise is a fabulous condiment to serve on this vegetable. You might be surprised at the way they complement each other. Alternatively, salt, pepper, and honey make a great combination for a sweet vegetable dish.

6. Potato Salad

Potato salad is a staple in most homes as it is guaranteed to pair well with almost anything, sprucing up any main course. Potato salad amplifies the traditional salad and offers a more hearty version that is filling and creamy. Pairing it with lobster means you are in for a real treat.

7. Corn On the Cob

Corn on the cob is one of the most popular choices of vegetable served with lobster. You can steam the corn alongside lobster in a pan and drizzle them with butter to top off your main course.

Lobster and corn on the cob are the perfect combination to up your seafood game and delight your guests.

8. Pasta Salad

You can make pasta salad in many different ways. A lighter version of pasta salad made up of chopped vegetables, pasta and some oil and vinegar would be a fantastic pairing with lobster.

The zestiness of Italian dressing can bring out the sweetness of the lobster, just like butter. You can also use pasta salad as an alternative to fresh salads.

9. Steamed Broccoli

Like corn on the cob, steamed broccoli is a perfect choice if you’re asking what vegetable goes well with lobster. You can broil or bake it to get the most out of its many health benefits.

Broccoli is great for gastrointestinal health since it is full of fibre. It also has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits for your skin, so add that to the list of reasons why you should choose it as the vegetable to pair with your lobster.

10. Cheesy Biscuits

Cheesy biscuits are, in my opinion, the most flavourful side dish to go with your lobster.

If you’ve ever been to Red Lobster, you’ll know what I’m talking about. How many of you stuck some cheesy biscuits in your purse before you paid your tab? No judgment — they are that good.

You can even make your own cheesy biscuits at home to enjoy this tasty treat anytime you like.
