Nowadays you can manifest anything, from dream jobs to receiving a text from your crush, although this hasn’t always been a TikTok trend.
Manifestation comes in many ways, shapes and forms, with TheLawofAttraction.com defining it as ‘something that is put into your physical reality through thought, feelings, and beliefs’. The idea of manifestation and the law of attraction is by putting something out into the universe, you will attract what you deserve and be rewarded.
Jenny Stallard, the founder of Freelance Feels regularly manifests in the form of moodboards. “I think it really helps with work – helps me focus and I do also feel that it goes to a higher power of a sort… I did a moodboard for a novel and got a deal! That was a few years ago now. My latest is all about my goals for Freelance Feels. For me, it helps me remember the long term goal, and to take action on that path. There’s an accountability once it’s on the board!”
It’s not just about your thoughts and feelings, part of manifesting is using this positive outlook to then create actions that will get you further into achieving your goal. It’s this positivity and accountability that makes people feel more determined.
“I really do believe if you say something out loud and make it known to the universe, it will come true.”
This trend has been going a lot longer than just on TikTok. There are an increasing amount of books being written on how you can change your outlook, manifest and make your dreams happen with YouTubers also creating content on how best to manifest.
Someone who has used and found manifestation successful is Hester Grainger, founder of Hester Grainger PR, who has found it’s “had a hugely positive impact on my life. I really do believe if you say something out loud and make it known to the universe, it will come true.”
Through speaking to the universe it’s incredible what Hester has been able to achieve. “I’ve achieved so much through manifestation over the years. I always wanted to be a TV presenter since I was little and I ended up presenting on The Wright Stuff straight after uni. Fast-forward a number of years and I was made redundant at 40. Since then I’ve launched my own business (which I’ve always dreamt of) and I’m a regular on BBC Radio every two weeks. I’ve appeared in magazine photo shoots and been ask to talk on ‘Radio 4’ and helped others do the same. I’ve achieved all this through manifestation.”
Hester isn’t the only one who has seen the effects of manifestation. Artist Jacqueline Rooney said, “It absolutely works. I knew when I took the risk and handed in my notice as Head of Art in a busy secondary school to pursue my ultimate dream to be a professional artist that I would make it. I knew that my vibrant paintings would be hanging in homes and businesses all over the world. I knew that it wasn’t too late to make a difference in the world by following my true vocation.”
Not only has manifestation worked for Jacqueline but “The awards and recognition I have received for my art are also testament to belief.”
is this just another throwaway trend?
It could be argued that even without manifestation at some point you would still be able to achieve great things. Jacqueline argues that, “As a ‘glass half full’ girl, I feel it has gotten me to this very happy point in my life.” and “I feel our thoughts manifest our reality and don’t think I would have reached this success in my business without a combination of true passion, hard work and manifesting.”
As most things, manifestation has become a new TikTok trend with the manifestation hashtag reaching 4.7 billion views. The trend takes the form of users manifesting their futures or others who are giving out tips and information on the best manifestation methods. Although is this just another throwaway trend?
Hester says, “I think people talk a lot about manifestation but you have to really believe in it, not just post about it on Instagram!” Whilst Jacqueline adds that, “Manifesting is much more than just a trend – it is about changing the way you think for life. It’s about waking up each morning with gratitude in your heart and the knowledge that good things can and will happen every day.”
