Can you believe it’s been 15 years since the first ever Hannah Montana episode aired on Disney Channel?
“Cyrus played the double life-leading pop sensation from 2006 to 2011”
Well, for fans across the globe, yesterday became the best of both worlds. Through a two-page, heartfelt, handwritten letter, Miley Cyrus paid homage to her Disney Channel character in honour of the series 15th anniversary.
For those unaware, Cyrus played the double life-leading pop sensation from 2006 to 2011, shooting teenage Miley into a whirlwind career of worldwide fame in the music and film industry.
Miley’s heartfelt letter
Addressed to Hannah herself, the personal letter addressed the singer’s high and lows during her Disney career, including falling in love for the first time and the loss of her grandfather.

“You + I have been through it all together, my friend. A lot of lasts. Ups. Downs. Tears and laughs.”
Alongside her on-screen and real-life father, Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley reminisced on her time with other fellow cast members, including Emily Osment, Mitchel Musso, and Jason Earles.
“I gained so many friends over the 6 years I spent on set. Emily Osment, Jason Earles and Mitchel Musso became my family. I was seeing them more than my own.”
Away from the spotlight, the chart-topper struggled with maintaining a normal childhood alongside her 12 hour working days. Speaking to Marie Claire in 2015, Miley said: “I would have anxiety attacks and hot flashes…feel like I was about to pass out or throw up.” However, after her brand reimage, Cyrus’ career has gone from strength to strength.
Fan reaction
After the announcement, fans went into a craze, with one fan saying “If Hannah Montana ever did a reunion concert and you think Ima go….. You’re absolutely right Dang Flabbit.”

Staying true to character, the Hannah Montana account tweeted a sassy response to the letter: “Nice to hear from you @MileyCyrus. It’s only been a decade.”
“whilst fans wait in anticipation for a star-studded Hannah Montana reboot, nothing has been officially announced yet.”
The revival of the Hannah Montana social media accounts wasn’t the end though. Cast members and previous guest stars on the show such as Joe Jonas, Corbin Bleu and Emily Osment all received a bunch of flowers to commemorate the anniversary.
Joe Jonas, frontman of sibling boyband Jonas Brothers, also known for their rise to stardom on Disney Channel, wrote on his Instagram story: “Holy Hannah Montana!!! Thank you @MileyCyrus! We love it! This is Epic!!”
But, whilst fans wait in anticipation for a star-studded Hannah Montana reboot, nothing has been officially announced yet.
To relive the nostalgia, Hannah Montana is available to stream on Disney+.
