With its whimsical beat and dreamy vocals, Niall Horan’s new single ‘Heaven’ will surely be your most listened-to love song this summer.

After a three-year album hiatus, Niall Horan is back with the release of his new single ‘Heaven’. It released on February 17. The singer-songwriter’s last work was alongside fellow musician Anne Marie. They released singles ‘Our Song’ and ‘Everywhere’ in 2021.

In anticipation of his third studio album ‘The Show’, set to be released June 9, Horan brings us a new feel-good song. He enters a new musical era with his new track, co-written by John Ryan, Joel Little, and Tobias Jesso Jr.

“I believe, I believe, I could die in your kiss.

No, it doesn’t get, doesn’t get better than this.”

Listeners follow the former One Direction member as he describes the infatuation you feel when first falling in love. He states how he’s “beyond infatuation” and how he “obsessively adores” his love. This sweet, pop, love song marks the change in weather as we slowly reach spring and summer.

Nostalgia

From listening, we get a nostalgic feeling resulting from the sweet melodies that resemble those in One Direction’s ‘Clouds’. More broadly, from the song’s sound, ‘Heaven’ could have been inspired by the band’s ‘Four’ album.

“Let’s not get complicated. Let’s just enjoy the view.

It’s hard to be a human, so much to put an answer to.”

The song states there’s no need to rush into things or label a relationship, it says to enjoy a new experience. The song is almost a social commentary on how we as a society feel a need to have everything figured out. We could get lost in this and miss the beauty of the little things in life, like falling in love.

Horan stated on Instagram that the upcoming album is “a piece of work I’m so proud of”. He added that he “can’t wait to share the next couple of years of this new era with you [the fans]”.
