Made by Jess Walmsley

Gifts with a conscience are becoming an increasing trend – how can we help ourselves whilst helping others. This is a Father’s Day gift guide with a difference, all the products will make a positive impact in some way whilst also being a great gift for your dad!

First things first, don’t forget the card (or the date, 21st June is Father’s Day!). One place to find diverse cards is KitsCH Noir, they were founded in 2017 and quickly became a multi award-winning brand, stocked nationwide in some of the UK’s leading stationery shops.

Each card is designed to uplift the recipient and celebrate the beauty of a more inclusive and diverse society.

Their range is full of bright, fun socks which come in a can – making them feel like something more than just a pair of socks. Even better, you can send Jollies your backlog of Father’s Day sock gifts and they will be recycled and repurposed!

For the male coffee lover, a packet of fresh ground coffee is the perfect gift as a change from the regular standard mix. Keeping it local, there are a range of Manchester based coffee roasters who can be supported despite lockdown.

Ancoats Coffee was born in 2013. Their specialty coffee can be bought in 350g bags and you can choose the grind of your coffee depending on how you brew, ranging from whole bean to stovetop.

The bags of coffee start at £10, the cheapest being the Warehouse City Espresso which is a new blend of syrupy, chocolatey, full-bodied coffee.

During lockdown many of us have been stuck at home and had the chance to catch up on a mounting pile of ‘to read’ books. Coronavirus has impacted social lives and group meet ups, therefore if you are missing your book club, why not try a virtual one?

The disaster relief charity Shelterbox have done just that. This is no ordinary book club; it already has a membership of over 2,000 across the country and each member has the opportunity to vote on the next read for the group.

This would be a great gift as you receive a book every six weeks and join the rest of the book club community for discussion through their Facebook page. The books chosen are compelling stories from around the world. To join, it is a suggested cost of £10 per month.
