American rock band The Lemon Twigs have released their highly anticipated single ‘Corner Of My Eye’, after a 2-year break – and it doesn’t disappoint.

Brothers Brian and Michael D’Addario formed the group in their home of Long Island, New York in 2014. The siblings, both multi-instrumentalists, vocalists, and songwriters, share roles within the band. Both of their voices effortlessly weave together to create gorgeous, subtle harmonies.

“It’s arguably no surprise that the brothers ended up as professional musicians”

The D’Addario brothers are no strangers to performing and have grown up with extensive stage experience – as a child Brian has taken on lead roles in Les Misérables and The Little Mermaid on Broadway. Indeed, it’s arguably no surprise that the brothers ended up as professional musicians. Their first release as a duo was a limited edition cassette, ‘What We Know’, in 2015, which paved the way for their future projects.

“The track focuses on a lost love”

‘Corner Of My Eye’  follows their critically acclaimed third studio album ‘Songs for the General Public’, released in August 2020. The tune, whilst understated, is gloriously reminiscent of their previous work, with an added layer of manufactured nostalgia. Lyrically, the track focuses on lost love. It is clear throughout the song that this person is front and centre in the singer’s mind.

The track takes 60’s inspired folk music and expertly places it through a modern lens, with the lilting melodies and soaring, angelic vocals creating a dreamlike soundscape. Whilst muted harmonies beautifully frame delicate lyrics which are sung over gentle guitars, this sentimental single is accompanied by a melancholy music video that was shot in a cemetery.

With this new release, it is clear that The Lemon Twigs are gearing up for a busy year ahead.

The band has an upcoming US tour, starting in March 2023 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
