Two Door Cinema Club are back with a bang with ‘Sure Enough’, their first release since 2022’s Keep On Smiling.
Their brand-new single, released in anticipation of their upcoming world tour in October, is aptly named, as the track’s bold synth and confident vocals are certainly ‘sure enough’ of themselves. The track showcases a new and exciting dive into the world of electro-pop, a departure from their signature indie sound, despite previous experimentations with the genre.

Two Door Cinema Club’s Sonic Evolution
Derivative of the 80’s, the track immediately submerges the listener within an overwhelming but pleasant riff of electric beats marked by the lyrics “here’s another story,” signifying a new age of Two Door Cinema Club.
“…a distinctly digital vibe, exploring the theme of overwhelm in the technological era”
Not only does the song wear its time-coded inspiration on its sleeve, it is also reminiscent of contemporary artists such as The Wombat’s early works (think, ‘Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves)’) and the widely acclaimed Bo Burnham’s Inside (2021); specifically, ‘Welcome to The Internet‘. These songs share a distinctly digital vibe, exploring the theme of overwhelm in the technological era, encapsulated perfectly by the synth, literal constant stimulation.
Nostalgia and Progress in the Modern Age
The sound is equally retro and progressive in nature. By drawing on these futuristic sounds of the past, ‘Sure Enough’ paints an eerily accurate picture of the technological age, where we have access to more than we could ever want, or need.
The lyrics only complement this overwhelm, pleading “give me just a little bit of peace instead”, “won’t somebody tell me what’s going on.” They mirror the shared feeling of inundation and overstimulation — something, I think, we can all relate to, perhaps a little too much.
What makes ‘Sure Enough’ entirely convincing is how deftly the confidence of the electronic sound merges with the vulnerability of the lyrics. This juxtaposition results in a bold acceptance of what it means to be part of a world where information reigns supreme, navigating complexities and contradictions, all while remaining unapologetically human.
Is this single revolutionary? No. Is it engaging, relatable, and fun? Sure Enough.
