Spider-Man 3 title announced as ‘No Way Home’

The official title of the third instalment of the Spider-Man series is Spider-Man: No Way Home

The announcement came this evening on Tom Holland’s Instagram account with a video of Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon exchanging witty comments about the new film, only to reveal a whiteboard with the title. Production on the film has been in motion for a few months now as Marvel Studios and Sony collaborate on the project.

The cast of Spider-Man 3 released three potential titles for the upcoming film yesterday.  The three main stars all released the first official images for the film along with fake titles for the superhero flick in an effort to troll fans.

Tom Holland who plays the web slinger posted an announcement to his account on Instagram, claiming the title was Spider-Man: Phone Home and he was excited for fans to see what they’d been up to. Jacob Batalon, Peter Parker’s best friend in the film Ned, posted at the same time, stating the title was Spider-Man: Home-Wrecker This caused mass confusion among fans, leaving many questioning if they would see any more titles.

Zendaya delivered her post not long after, also saying how proud she was of the film and the title was Spider-Man: Home Slice

There could have been a chance creators were hinting at the idea of a multiverse through these differing titles as this is something that is known to be touched upon in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and has been introduced in Avengers: Endgame

It is more likely they were in fact poking fun at Holland’s track record of revealing spoilers for Marvel films.

In the video released today, Zendaya remarked on his accidentally ruining the title of the last film after Holland complained he hadn’t spoiled anything.  As far as the first official images are concerned, it seems Peter Parker will be keeping his friends close as all three of them include the three stars in an unknown location.

This makes sense following the previous instalment Spider-Man: Far From Home where Spider-Man’s true identity was revealed in the end credits scene by villain Mysterio and suggests the trio could be on the run or in hiding as Peter vows to protect his friends, hence the title.

In any case, fans are gearing up for more details on the film, its characters and its story.
